If you meet our eligibility criteria, you may receive support FREE of charge. If you do not meet the criteria you may also still receive access to our low cost and Subsidised services.

Meet the Team

Our team works collaboratively and in consultation with support agencies, families, and other professionals.
We assist families to connect to local and existing community services and programs by providing information and referral pathways that increase family capacity and functioning. Our aim is to create better outcomes for children and families in the Northern Gold Coast region

Dr Iona Abrahamson (PhD)

Dr Iona Abrahamson (PhD) is an experienced and well-qualified psychotherapist. Her area of expertise is in relationships, loss and grief, parenting, domestic violence, infidelity, self-esteem and assertiveness. She facilitates group workshops, as well as provides individual, couple and family counselling sessions. Through the death of her son, Iona changed her career many years ago, as she wanted to help others deal with their difficult circumstances and pain. Iona has completed her doctoral research on infidelity counselling and is a clinical practitioner and trainer with expertise in infidelity counselling. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Masters of Counselling with Honours. Iona offers a caring and compassionate approach to her clients with a focus on helping them towards healing. 

Julia Goddard

I have always had a passion to bring healing to others. I began my career working as a Nurse and have worked on the Gold Coast as a Practice Nurse with Family and Child Health and then as a School Nurse.  I remain registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

I then continued my studies completing my Bachelor of Science and Masters of Counselling.  I am lifelong learner and am committed to a constant gathering of knowledge for my own growth and to aid the growth of others.  I continue to complete trainings and study approaches that focus on healing developmental trauma and  current research in neurobiology.  I continue towork with brain based research in parenting and healthy attachment. I have completed courses in Theraplay.

Dyadic developmental Practice- trained by the renowned Julie Hudson in the UK.

Somatic therapies, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
